Our Mission

James has spent fourteen years working across the online gambling industry — first as a compliance officer at a UKGC-licensed operator, then as a freelance investigative journalist covering gambling regulation and consumer protection for UK trade and national press. His background in compliance gives him an unusually detailed understanding of what responsible operators actually do versus what they claim to do, and his journalism training means he applies the same scepticism to casino marketing that a good journalist applies to any official statement.
James personally oversees all casino reviews on this site. Every review is built from a real account, a real deposit, and — where withdrawal testing is possible — a real cashout attempt. He reads every terms and conditions document in full before summarising it. He tests customer support with questions that expose the difference between knowledgeable and scripted responses. Sophie leads our responsible gambling content, verifies the accuracy and currency of all support organisation references, and provides a critical check on our casino reviews from the perspective of harm risk. Sophie holds a BSc in Psychology from the University of Exeter and a postgraduate certificate in Gambling Studies from the University of Bristol’s School of Policy Studies. She is based in Bristol, Somerset.
How We Operate
We are not affiliated with any casino operator, software provider, or gambling industry group. Our site does not participate in affiliate programmes with the casinos we review. We do not accept advertising placements, sponsored content, or paid inclusions in any review or ranking.
Our costs are covered by display advertising from non-gambling categories and by a small number of research partnerships with academic institutions studying gambling behaviour. Neither revenue stream influences our editorial positions or review outcomes.
When we identify a casino as a top pick or recommend it positively, that recommendation is based solely on the criteria described in our How We Rate section. Editorial independence is not just a principle we claim — it’s a practice we maintain through specific structural decisions. Casino operators cannot purchase placement on this site. They cannot request that specific review criteria be applied or excluded. They cannot access reviews prior to publication or request changes to published content. If an operator contacts us to dispute a finding, we will review the factual basis of their claim and, if warranted, update our content with a clear notation of the change and its basis.
